Dip thumb in paint and make impression on the cardstock for the face.

No plastic please! - DIY cotton tote bags using fabric markers.

What you will need

Cotton Tote bag

Pencil n eraser

Cardboard (you can also use a big book)

Fabric markers

Rhinestones, sequins, glitter, puff paint (optional)

1.Insert cardboard in the bag to help prevent leaking color through to the other side.

2. Smoothen the top by stretching and folding the sides of bag under the cardboard. 

3. You can also use tape to keep it intact for the younger kids. 

4. Draw the design using pencil.

5. Outline and fill in using fabric markers.

Festivities provide us with a wonderful opportunity to teach our kids generosity. Performing a random act of kindness and sharing without any expectation of return not only helps others but also brings happiness and inner peace in our hearts.

At our home we are keeping a count of the ways we are going to share our blessings. Some of them are donating books to library, sharing food, writing notes, bringing smiles, visiting animal shelters, donating toys and volunteer our time. Even a small act of kindness can pour our hearts with abundant love.

This month’s art project is a fun and colorful fingerprint turkey. It’s a simple and beautiful way to get kids involved in personalizing thankful notes.

What you will need

• Paints

• Wiggly eyes

• Marker

• Glue

Dip thumb in paint and make an impression on paper for face.

For belly dip thumb in paint and spread in round shape. For wings, dip index finger in colorful paints and make impression. Stick wiggly eyes and draw legs using marker.

Joyful napkin holders - A simple, fun and creative Thanksgiving project!

All you need is

·         Paper towel tube

·         Handmade or construction or scrapbook paper

·         Glue

·         Scissors

·         Photos

Cut paper towel tube 1-1/2 inches wide.  Stick colorful construction paper on it using glue. You can also stick pumpkin seeds around. Print photos and trim them into 1- ½ inch squares. Cut handmade paper in 2 inches squares for an impression of border. Now, stick photos on handmade paper. Stick them on paper towel tube using glue. Insert napkin.

Life seems to be running on an auto mode, from morning to night our routines are so programmed. Still a question often arises in our minds, are we doing enough? Striving for perfection at work, in relations, in life makes it even more stressful. Look around and there are like billions of ways people can explain what they think perfection is because each person has a different way to look at situations. What makes sense for us might be totally irrelevant for others but that does not make us or them any wrong or better.

Festivities are about to start, shelves are loaded with stuff and hearts with feelings. Getting together with everyone brings joy but also comes with a baggage. Nothing comes without some side effects!

Let’s make a way into this festive season being us and taking a pride in the decisions we have made and priorities we have chosen. Life will be way easier and fun if we all can play our roles being ourselves. We all are trying to climb this high ladder in life. Take a short break and look at how far we have come, get a stock of what we have gained and lost.

For the journey ahead pack a fresh bag with learning’s and beautiful memories, forget regrets and mistakes. After all who wants to carry dirty laundry to a new journey?

Take a stock of memorable and beautiful moments out of your life. Collect what you have left of it and create a beautiful collage. It brings so much joy to heart and motivation to see our achievements in life at a glance. Give yourself the credit you deserve before you set out to achieve more and get too busy to acknowledge yourself!

What you will need

• Canvas
• Pallet knife
• Pencil
• Acrylic paints and glue
• Markers

• Glitters

• Sequence

  

Draw basic design using pencil. Using pallet knife cover the canvas with base paint, add a touch of various colors. Mix acrylic paints with glue and glitter and fill the design using paint brush. Be playful with colors, add sequence and glitters. When dry, touch up using markers. The base design is ready. You can now write quotes with markers and add pictures.

Pumpkins - super fun and creative fall art project using finger paints!

What you will need

• Card stock
• Finger paints
• Crayons
• Paint brush
• Paper plate 

1. Pour paint in a paper plate. 
2. Generously dip index finger in paints and make impressions on card stock for pumpkins. 
3. For stems, dip paint brush in green paint and dab. You can also use markers or crayons.
4. Touch up using crayons.

All you need is

• Construction paper
• Card stock
• Glue
• Pipe cleaner
• Scissors
• Art paint brush

Using scissors cut tree trunk from construction paper. Stick it on card stock. Dip index finger in paints and press on to paper for leaves impression. Touch up construction paper using paints.   

For flowers - Dip pipe cleaner in paints, press it on paper for stem. Make petals using art paint brush as shown. (Dip art paint brush in paints and press it on paper)

Generously dip brush in colorful paints and press it on the paper as shown. Enjoy!

  

Loving hearts - A simple and fun art project using construction paper!

All you need is

• Construction paper
• Tissue paper
• Glue
• Scissors
• Pencil
• Heart stencil (optional)

Draw a heart on construction paper and cut it using scissors. Cut or hand tear tissue paper into small squares and crush it. Stick the crushed balls of tissue paper on the borders of heart using glue.

Ideas around the project

1. Write a note, stick a treat, draw a picture and turn it into a sweet greeting card.
2. Fun book (Cut same size hearts from different colors of construction paper and punch holes on left and tie them together).
3. Display pictures (Cut same size hearts from different colors of construction paper. Using tape, stick pictures displaying memorable moments. Stick them on wall using tape) 
4. Party decorations ( Tie jute twines where ever desired in a party and display pictures as done in (3) using small wooden clothespin).

Life is incomplete without the people we love and the most beautiful thing about this time of the year is acknowledging and showing love and gratitude to them. Being thankful is the most important step forward to love, peace, happiness and prosperity.

The slow cozy days are also perfect time of the year to relax, rejuvenate and get indulged in the stories and laughter’s with our loved ones that we have been missing because of our busy lives.

This month’s art project is Eco-friendly, emphasizes reuse and shows gratitude for the nature.

All you need is

• Paper towel tube

• Pipe cleaner

• Cardboard or foam

• Glue

• Wiggly eyes (optional) or marker to draw eyes

• Red foam or cardboard

• Scissors

1. Cut paper towel tube 2 inches long.

2. Cut card board to make face. Stick wiggly eyes and nose on the face. Stick face to paper towel tube.

3. Cut two pipe cleaners 7 inches long each for making feet. Fold and stick with glue to the paper towel  tube.

4. Twist and fold 4 colorful pipe cleaners to make wings.

5. Insert napkin or a gratitude note in the paper towel tube.
